What a difference a day makes
7 April 2010
The World Health Day on 7 April (and 8 April in India), brokerage houses for Standard Chartered across the world will donate a day's fees to Seeing is Believing.
Last year the Bank partnered with 50 brokerage houses globally, raising US$200,000 which was then matched by the Bank.
This year again, over 50 brokerage houses across the world have committed to taking part in this one-day event, from the market opening in Tokyo through to New York's close. The final fundraising amount will depend on the number of trades that are carried out on the day but the the team is confident of matching last year's effort.
Lenny Feder, head of the Bank's Financial Markets team said, "We are very happy that the broker community has partnered with us, once again, to raise money for Seeing is Believing. This initiative affirsm our commitment to the communities in which we operate. We hope to grow this initiative even further in the years ahead."
